Palácio de Monserrate & Quinta da Regaleira

By Raquel

I’m way behind on posting about our recent travels. Anna is busy with school and haven’t posted either. So, here’s a few photos from our day trip to Sintra.

First stop: Palácio de Monserrate

While there we were pleasantly surprised to learn about and join the jazz festival for families. It was both enjoyable and educational. They taught the basics of harmony, dialogue, improvise, etc in jazz, all aimed for the younger audience. They would teach a concept and then demonstrate with a song. What a treat!

Getting from Palácio de Monserrate to our next stop, Quinta da Regaleira, was an adventure in itself. If you ever plan a trip to Sintra I have tips to share.

Next stop: Quinta da Regaleira

The gardens are beautiful and I highly recommend a visit. Above is a photo of the iconic inverted tower. After climbing down you keep going through tunnels and come out on the other side of the garden.

Até a próxima!
